Abstract

Your Journal, the Journal of Basic Medical Sciences is gradually gaining grounds in the efficiency of processing your manuscripts. Our commitment to publish high quality, peer-reviewed articles is unwavering. Thus, we continue to put submitted manuscripts through the “mill” of the review process; however, we have fine-tuned the mechanism for the assignment of papers to the reviewers thus reducing the turn-around time from submission to decision. As dedicated scientists and clinicians who are among the leading experts in their various fields, our reviewers and editors provide a fair and efficient review process.
To bridge the gap in our indexing, date, volume and numbering as a half-yearly issue, the current volume (Volume 7) is published with the two numbers (1 and 2) for the publication year. Having overcome our teething problems, we are poised to join the league of regular and timely journals. We are at advanced stage of putting the JBMS online and in the next few days you will be able to visit and browse our contents online. With the new developments, the submission of manuscripts, review and editing of manuscripts will all be completed on the virtual platform.

The support of our faculty and researchers, and the dedication of our reviewers are highly appreciated.
The relevance of basic medical research to bedside care and community health are highlighted by the challenges thrown up by the novel Pandemic of COVID19 caused by the Corona virus SARS-COV-2. This has upset the normal setting of the world and thrown up a new normal based on the realities of the moment. We urge our researchers and policy makers to submit materials on cutting edge research and topical issues that will impact our world of learning and service.

Thank you.
